Russia: crabs sold abroad

In Russia, crabs sold abroad have riskyly rose. According to RBC with reference to the data of the Federal Customs Service, the average price of the export product increased in October to 58 dollars per kilogram.

It is noted that the crabs are usually becoming more expensive in autumn compared to the summer months, but in 2021 the price jump reached the maximum level over the past three years. In October 2020 kilogram cost an average of $ 32, in October 2019 – 26 dollars. Back in September of this year, the price remained at $ 31.

Especially rose frozen meat, in October it reached a cost of $ 67 per kilogram, while in September – 30 dollars. There were about 63 percent of the entire crab exports in monetary terms or $ 1.2 billion within ten months.

Russia supplies a product mainly in three countries, the Netherlands, South Korea and China. At the same time, the first two countries are intermediaries, the ice cream crab is overloaded into containers and is transferred to other countries without customs clearance.
