Russia and Turkey discussed prospects for cooperation in study of space

Delegation of Roskosmos State Corporation and Organizations of the Rocket and Space Industry, headed by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cooperation in Space, by Director General, Dmitry Rogosine visited the Turkish Republic on a working visit.

Representatives of the state corporation Roscosmos met with the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technologies of Turkey and the Turkish Space Agency. The receiving side was headed by the Minister of Industry and Technologies of Turkey Mustafa Varank and the President of the Turkish Space Agency Serdar Hussein Yyldym. The parties discussed promising directions of bilateral cooperation and outlined practical steps to implement them.

Separately, partners stopped preparing an agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Turkish Republic on cooperation in the study and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. This document must be a legal framework for further collaboration.

Agreement will allow two countries to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the piloted cosmonautics, the creation of space technology, scientific research in space, planetary studies, remote sensing of the Earth, the monitoring of outer space, satellite navigation, telecommunications and communications.

The last meeting was a continuation of the collaboration of representatives of the space sectors of Russia and Turkey.
