Ministry of Defense of Norway commented on Popov version about death of Kursk

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Norway commented on the version of the death of the Kursk submarine due to the collision with the NATO submarine, which the admiral voiced and the ex-commander of the Northern Fleet Vyacheslav Popov. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

As the Norwegian side reminded, the Russian commission established the causes of what happened. “The tragic incident with a submarine” Kursk “21 years ago shook Norway, which is also a naval power,” – added there.

Earlier, Admiral Vyacheslav Popov called his own version of the death of Kursk. According to him, this happened because of the collision with the NATO submarine, which was followed by a submarine. He noted that the submarine due to weather conditions could not secure security, so he walked into the “Kursk” too close, later it was discovered from the coast of Norway. In the Kremlin, Popova’s version comment refused.

Kursk sank on August 12, 2000 in the Barents Sea, 175 kilometers from Severomorsk, all 118 crew members were killed. According to the official version, the cause of the tragedy was the explosion of a vapor torpedo on board, which then caused detonation.
