Lukashenko declared a sharp decrease in number of migrants on border with Poland

The number of migrants along the border of Belarus, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia has decreased significantly. According to the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, on November 22, about 150 people remain in the cross-border strip. His words reports “BelTA”.

“I clarified today. True, it was already less left. Somewhere about one and a half hundred people on the border – along the entire border of three states,” said Lukashenko.

At the same time, the Belarusian president stressed that the attempts of migrants get to the European Union will not stop so far. If such violators catch the police in Poland or even control on the Polish-German border, they are still sent back to the border strip with Belorussia. However, even in such conditions there is a sharp decrease in the number of migrants at the border.

Discussion of the Problem of Refugees in Belarus took place within the framework of the meeting of Lukashenko with the Grodno Governor Vladimir Karanik and the inspector for the Grodno region Yuri Karayev. The governor noticed that while in the region did not receive money from the European Union to help refugees. All humanitarian assistance is carried out by Belarusian citizens – representatives of civil society, volunteers, businessmen.

Previously, the spokesman for the Belarusian President Natalia Eismont said that, according to the authorities estimates, there are about seven thousand migrants from the Middle East countries who want to get to the European Union on the territory of Belarus. At the same time, two thousand of them are located in a natural camp on the border with Poland. On November 18, most of the migrants have already left them the building of the Logistics Center.
