105-year-old American installed world record on running

American Julia Hawkins (Hawkins) (Hurricane) has installed a new world record in running 100 meters in its age group. It is reported by USA today.

aged 105 years, a woman overcame a distance in 1 minute and 2.95 seconds. Competitions were held in Louisiana on November 6th. “The older you become, the more hobbies you should have … to remain active – one of my main hobbies,” said the athlete newspaper.

The race passed near the House of Childhood Hawkins in Pluchatulule, where she also taught in high school. Some of her former students came to pick up the elderly participant. A woman was invited to participate in the national games in Fort Lauderdale, which will be held in May 2022. “Hurricane” has not yet given a final answer.

Hawkins began to participate in competitions on the run when she turned 100 years old. Before that, she was engaged in a ride by bike.

In 2017, she installed the world record in the age group of 100-104, when it ran 100 meters for 40.12 seconds. In 2019, she overcame a 100 meter distance for 46.07 seconds. As an American admitted, she does not run every day, but it tries to remain active and daily pass around one mile (1.6 kilometers).
