New “Express” for Russian broadcasting

Two telecommunication spacecraft “Express-AMU3” and “Express-AMU7” manufactured by the company “Information satellite systems” named after academician M.F. Reshetnyova “(ISS, is part of the state corporation” Roskosmos “) will replenish the orbital grouping of Russia.

Express-AMU3 and Express-AMU Space AMUs are created in the company “ISS” to ensure modern high-quality communication services and broadcasting on the request of the National Operator FSUE “Space Communications”. They are built on the basis of the Satellite Platform “Express-1000N” of the enterprise’s own development. Equipment of payload developed and manufactured by the European partner of Thales Alenia Space. For the first time in the practice of ISP, part of the useful load equipment for a commercial satellite was made by an independent enterprise. The reflector of one of the antennas of the EXPRESS-AMU7 apparatus was created by the solutions on the order Tas.

In the course of production, both apparatus passed a full cycle of terrestrial tests and were sent to the Baikonur cosmodrome. For transportation of spacecraft “Express-AMU3” and “Express AMU7”, one of the largest aircraft in the world of An-124 “Ruslan” was involved. On October 18, 2021, they were delivered to the Baikonur cosmodrome, they are currently being prepared for launch. It is scheduled for December 6, 2021 at 15:20 Moscow time.

“Express-AMU3” and “Express AMU7” will be bred on a geostationary orbit in two stages. The Proton-M carrier rocket and the Breeze-M acceleration unit will deliver them to a geo-order orbit, then with the help of their own satellite correction engines get to the standing points, where flights will be held with them. Guaranteed service life of spacecraft 15 years.
