Tests of Soyuz MS-20 ship are completed in a vacuum chamber

On the Baikonur cosmodrome, tests for the tightness of the transport piloted ship “Union MS-20” in the vacuum chamber of the installation and test case No. 254 were completed.

In accordance with the work schedule, specialists of the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation and the South Space Center (branch of the center of exploitation of ground-based space infrastructure facilities is part of the Roskosmos State Corporation) performed a cycle of pneumatic tests of the ship “Union MS-20” , lasted from November 5, 2021. Automated control of high requirements for the tightness of the compartments and side systems of the ship in the ground conditions passed without comments.

Today, November 10, the Soyuz MS-20 ship was transported back to the technical complex and installed in a dynamic stand for further pre-flight training.

Start of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the piloted ship “Union MS-20” is scheduled for December 2021. The flight to the International Space Station duration of 12 days will be held under a contract with Space Adventures. The commander of the main crew is the cosmonaut of Roscosmos Alexander Misurnkin, and Yusaka Maesava, President of the Start Tuyi Corporation, and Jozo Hirano, were appointed as participants in the cosmic flight to the main crew, and Josezava Personal Assistant.
