The responsible worker of the manufacturer of parts for submarines of the US Navy Elene Marie Thomas confessed to the multiple deception of test test tests. For the supply of details of unverified quality, she faces up to 10 years in prison, writes Business Insider.
67-Summer Thomas for 30 years was responsible for the metallurgical direction in Bradken in Washington state – and all this time the company produced including steel parts used on submarines. During this period, it is personally responsible for fake test results for strength in at least 240 cases, which is a “essential part” of all supplies.
In addition to the prison sentence, it faces up to 1 million dollars fine. Fraudes became known in 2017 by one of the employees of the laboratory of this enterprise. It is noted that the incidents on submarines associated with this case are not known – however, it will make it more expensive than their examination and technical inspection.
In October of this year, another scandal with submarines from the USA broke out: Australia, which made a contract for the supply of submarine with France, refused French cooperation in favor of the United States and the UK. The Australian Prime Minister explained this with a large number of “problems” from the French side.
