Japan: will start charging smartphones after 5G

The Japanese Holding Company Softbank intends to add to its base stations 5G the ability to wireless charging gadgets. This is reported by Nikkei Asia.

As the sources of publication told, the Japanese giant intends to test technology for remote charging of phones, headphones and other techniques in the near future. Wireless electricity transmission devices will be installed on 5G base stations. The Government of Japan in the near future intends to give permission to test.

Testing will take place within the framework of modernization: Softbank will begin to replace 200 thousand 4G base stations throughout Japan on the 5G version. Along with new equipment at the station, special transmitters will be installed. The electrical charge will spread in the high-frequency range of 28 gigahertz, which is used in connection with 5G. According to sources, for charging gadgets will need to simply approach the base station.

To prevent the negative effect of electricity on the human body, the transmitter power will be limited. So, at a distance of up to 10 meters, about one million energy will be transmitted. SoftBank plans to start making money on this technology in 2025.

Earlier, Ericsson specialists stated that the implementation of 5G would be positively affected by the planet ecology. In this case, in this case, the number of carbon dioxide emissions in the European Region will decrease by 55-170 million tons.
