The organizers of the assassination of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazymi likely to include representatives of radical pro-Iranian groups. This assumption in a conversation with “Lentoy.ru” stated lead researcher of the Institute of Oriental Studies Konstantin Truevtsev.
According to him, these groups can be linked to pro-Iranian coalition “Al Hashd Al Shaab” ( “Forces of popular mobilization”), which is unhappy with the defeat in the October elections and is now the protests and demands to revise the results of the voting. Orientalist also named unlikely involvement of external forces in the attack on the Iraqi prime minister. Earlier, al-Kazymi said he knows who tried to kill him with the help of a drone packed with explosives aimed at the residence. The prime minister noted that those who committed this crime will persecute and expose. The Interior Ministry attempted assassination of a politician called terrorist attack. Representative of the department said that the attack was made by three unmanned aerial vehicles, two of which managed to bring down. At the same time, the third drone struck the house by Al-Kazami – as a result, several security officers were injured.
On the night of November 7, Al Arabiya TV channel reported that Iraq’s premiere was hospitalized after the drone attack on his residence in Baghdad. Policy was taken to hospital with minor injuries, but later, he said that “everything is fine”.
