According to the department, the unemployment rate in Australia rose to 4.6 percent. The greatest number of people lost jobs in the states New South Wales and Victoria, as well as in the metropolitan region.

“People lose their jobs or go to the abbreviated schedule, it is still very difficult to maintain activity in the labor market during isolation,” the bureau stressed. It is noted that the thick-populated districts of the country suffered the strongest from the COVID-19 pandemic.
