The government launched a new system of combating prices in Russia, “Vedomosti” is written. At first, it will work in pilot mode and will be aimed at the main categories of socially significant goods.
The new system, the development of which was supervised by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov, involves the construction of economic models describing the dependence of prices in the domestic market on the world’s conjuncture. Home prices will be expressed in special indexes.
For each category of goods, developers identified their own risk profile – a valid price increase range. With its violation, the government should submit proposals to correct the situation. The main goal of the system is to achieve a situation in which the rise in prices for most goods will remain within the overall target inflation.

Among them, a decrease in duties to import certain categories of goods, subsidizing domestic producers, the introduction of damper mechanisms by analogy with those that are currently in the gasoline market and certain types of agricultural curtulines.
In the most extreme cases, the conclusion of special agreements with manufacturers and sellers about freezing prices at a certain level is also not excluded. Such a measure was already applied to sunflower oil and sugar.
