Lukashenko wanted to transplant Belarusians on electric cars

Belarus, taking into account the launch of the Belayes, received a large amount of electricity, due to the lack of its own oil reserves, it is necessary to increase the share of electric vehicles and the number of charging for them, said the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko, transfers BelTA.

He noted that about a year ago in the country, benefits were introduced for those who want to transfer to electric vehicles. “Now there is a need to introduce additional incentives,” said Lukashenko. He called it a “urgent need.” Lukashenko wants the infrastructure of charging stations to develop. Only ten percent of the gas station in the country provide such a service, he noted.

In order to stimulate the transition to eco-friendly transport, the import duty on the import of electric vehicles was canceled in Belarus and the VAT rate is reset. Also up to 2025, electric vehicle owners are released from paying parking in communal property. Earlier, Lukashenko said that the electric car of Belarusian production may appear until 2025.

He also called the transition to the electric vehicle of one of the main tasks of the future five-year plan. “We simply should not be lagging behind here. If we leave, it will be bad. Therefore, it is difficult, it’s hard, but we will have to run and at least in no way fall behind,” he said.
