China: turned copies of Soviet fighters in drones

Copies of Soviet fighters MiG-19 in China turned into drones. Snapshots of re-equipped Shenyang J-6 aircraft were published in the East zone of the combat command of the People’s Liberation Army of China. This is reported by Defence News.

The publication leads a satellite picture that demonstrates 50 unmanned J-6 aircraft at Lyanyhen Air Base. Also unmanned aircraft are located on the base of Yantan-Lee. The piloted versions of the J-6 were removed from weapons in 2010.

Another snapshot of an unmanned aircraft based on the Soviet design was published in the official account of the command of the Eastern War Action Theater on the WEIBO social network. The photo was made during the opening ceremony of a new training cycle in the unnamed part.

Defence News notes that the piloted versions of the J-6 were removed from weapons in 2010, and in 2013 there were reports about working on unmanned versions of the aircraft. The author of the material suggested that unmanned aircraft can prepare for massive raids in order to deplete the electronic air defense system.

China received documentation for the production of J-6 in the late 1950s. The plane was produced until 1981, and in service with the NAK Air Force, the aircraft consisted until 2010. J-6 fighter is armed with three guns of 30 millimeters HP-30 cannon. Also, the plane can carry bombs and rockets at the external points of the suspension.

In September, a drone with daily autonomy was premented in China. Dron CH-6 received economical turbofan engines, which allows for about 20 hours in the air. The drone can develop speed up to 700 kilometers per hour.
