France called on NATO to accept prospect of a pan-European army

France’s Armed Forces Minister Flores Parley called on NATO partners to accept the prospect of creating a pan-European army. About it reports The Daily Telegraph.

According to her, the Alliance does not need to be afraid of the military units of the European Union, since European defense is built “not in opposition to NATO, but on the contrary, to strengthen and increase the viability of the alliance.” In turn, the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also positively assessed the prospect of creating an EU Complementary NATO.

The publication requested that the statement of the Parley sounded after Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States concluded a new Military Aukus Military Alliance. The agreement suggests that three countries will simplify the exchange of information and technological innovations in the field of neural network, cybernetic and underwater systems. Because of this, Canberra broke out a contract with the French company Naval Group on 12 submarines worth $ 66 billion.

This action provoked an international scandal – in France, the gesture was called the back and for the first time in history, they recalled their ambassador from the country. Against the background of the broken conflict, the European Union postponed negotiations on a free trade agreement with Australia.
