The author notes that the development of the Tank “Object 195” began in 1988 within the framework of the development work “Improving-88”. Designers planned to create a car that could surpass in the parameters of the security and fire power of any tank of NATO countries.
To increase the survivability, Soviet designers chose a boaf layout with a uninhabited tower. The security increased the combined armor with dynamic protection and a set of active protection. T-95 received an early version of the dynamic protection “Relic”, which is established on modern Russian tanks.
The main instrument of the tank “Object 195” was a 1,52 millimeter 2A83 gauge 2A83. This allowed to use shells of artillery installations, including nuclear ammunition. The main tool complemented a 25 millimeters of a 25 millimeters gauge gun 2A42. Also T-95 received a modern target complex. Radar sight could afford the tank to hit targets under interference conditions.
“judging by all the above characteristics, the T-95 looks much more powerful tank than the T-14. T-14 has less powerful main and additional weapons, has fewer sighting systems and has similar armor,” summarized Gao.
The author suggested that the capacity of T-14 equipment exceeds the characteristics of the instrument instruments “Object 195”. In his opinion, “Armat” will be able to effectively counteract high-precision weapons.
In October, it was reported that state testing T-14 tank on the “Armat” platform is planned to be completed in 2022.
