France intends to restart cooperation with the United States and restore relations undermined after the Aukus defense partnership scandal concluded between Australia, Great Britain and the United States. The official representative of the French Cabinet of French Cabinet Gabriel Attal was announced on this BFM TV channel.
According to the official, Paris wanted to establish contacts with Washington, as countries participate in solving the most important international tasks. “We are involved in the Americans to resolve issues that are key to the planet, such as climate, the fight against terrorism in Sahele,” said Attal.
The French representative found it necessary to indicate that restoring trust between states will not be easy. “The path will be long and demanding,” the official added.
September 16, Washington, London and Canberra concluded an agreement on the defense partnership. Alliance called Aukus (Australia, United Kingdom, USA). The purpose of the transaction is to protect and defend the common interests of the parties in the Indo-Pacific region and the combination of efforts in the development of the defense sector.
After that, Canberra broke out a contract with the French company Naval Group, which provided for the production of 12 shock submarines worth about $ 66 billion, in favor of obtaining atomic submarines from the United States. The Australian government made the calculation that China will perceive the appearance of new submarines as a threat.
This action provoked an international scandal – in France, the gesture was called the “impact of the back” and for the first time in history, they recalled their ambassadors to the United States and Australia for consultation.
