The value of the second cryptocurrency of the world Ethereum increased to 4.4 thousand dollars, updating the record, according to Coinmarketcap. During the day, Altkoin rose by 10.9 percent, and its market capitalization at the peak was 519 billion dollars.
By the time of publication, the price of Ethereum was adjusted and amounted to 4.33 thousand dollars. The share of cryptocurrency on the market for the first time reached 19.65 percent. The previous historical maximum of the value of the token was recorded on October 21 – at the peak the price exceeded 4.37 thousand dollars per coin.
In August, the EtherEUM developers have released a London update, which completely changed the mechanism of accrualing commissions for the transaction. Part of the commissions that miners previously received as a remuneration is now burned. The burning is called the destruction of a part of the tokens to reduce their number in circulation. Such a measure allows you to overcome currency inflation.
Many market participants consider Ethereum a more promising project than the most popular cryptocurrency of the world – Bitcoin. CoinShares survey showed that 42 percent of investors are confident that the product of the Canadian-Russian programmer Vitalik Biderina will surpass Bitcoin in terms of growth rates. However, both currencies inves the same proportion of respondents – 30 percent.
