Soyuz MS-20 passed tests in a non-echo chamber

The pre-flight preparation of the transport piloted ship “Union MS-20” continues on the Baikonur cosmodrome. Today, October 27, 2021, in accordance with the pre-flight schedule, the cycle of autonomous tests of the ship in the non-echo chamber of the installation and test case No. 254 was held.

Specialists of the Rocket and Space Corporation “Energy” named after S.P. Queen and Space Center “South” (a branch of the center of exploitation of land-based space infrastructure facilities is part of the Roskosmos State Corporation) performed operations to check the functioning of the Radio Equipment “Course-on”, which ensures the convergence and docking of the Soyuz MS-20 International Space Station.

The echoam chamber is a specialized room coated with radio absorbing material in order to simulate the conditions of outer space for ground testing of the functioning of the Radio Systems of Transport Shop “Progress MS” and “Union of MS”. After completion, the test ship was installed in the dynamic stand of the assembly and test case to continue pre-training.

Start of the Soyuz-2.1A carrier missile with the piloted ship “Union MS-20” is scheduled for December 2021. The flight to the International Space Station duration of 12 days will be held under a contract with Space Adventures.
