The new method of recalculating poor citizens in Russia will determine the number of people in need and begin to spend the fund of national welfare, the economist Alexey Korenev believes. In a conversation with “Ribbon.ru,” he stressed that the change in the assessment methodology can speak just that the state was dosed before starting to use the FNB for the purpose.
The Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) decided to improve the methods of assessing the financial situation of Russians and consider the poor in a new way. Special attention is planned to pay large families and elderly people. Rosstat posted a contract for the implementation of research work on the portal of the State Transportation, the amount of lot is 3.52 million rubles. The authors of the study will have to develop recommendations on selective monitoring of Russian income (with this approach, observation is covered by the same respondents for a long time).
Two explanations
Korenev noted that there is no possibility to evaluate the new methodology that Rosstat will offer, and it is impossible to judge the true motives of the department. In his opinion, changes can be made to artificially reduce the number of poor people in the country.

The economist explained that initially one of the main goals of the creation of the FNB was just social support for the population, as well as support for programs that ensure the quality of life of the population. Currently, the Fund has even become more than it was originally expected.
