Nuland and Ryabkov discussed Iranian nuclear program and extension of CFP

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov and US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland discussed the situation around the joint comprehensive action plan (IRPD) and the Iranian nuclear program. About this, as reported by TASS, told the head of the press service of the US State Department for weeks during a briefing.

Price said that CVPD is one of those areas in which the interests of Moscow and Washington have common interests, in particular, preventing Iran’s nuclear weapons. He noted that two countries have a number of disagreements on a wide range of issues, however, “when it comes to our overall interest in the mutual return of the United States and Iran to comply with UNFF – this is the direction where the interests of the United States with the Russian Federation coincide.”

Iran’s CFD contract was concluded in the summer of 2015 between Tehran and six intermediary countries. Later, Iran was caught in gross violations of agreements. In early May 2018, the United States announced a unilateral exit from the transaction and the resumption of anti-Iranian sanctions. Iran reported a refusal to agreements on CRPD in January 2020.

June 20, 2021 in Vienna ended the sixth of this year round of negotiations on the complete restoration of UNDPD, which also implies the return to this transaction. Then in Washington stated that they would return at the negotiating table with the new leadership of Iran.

July 29, USA said they were ready to return to the negotiations on a nuclear deal with Iran, as soon as the process of transferring the presidential authority after the elections of the head of state will be completed.
