Lukashenko promised not to give Belarusians to street through sanctions

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko promised not to bring citizens to the street with the help of Western sanctions. He stated this on October 7 at a meeting on countering the sanctions measures, BelTA transmits.

“We need to do everything so that ordinary families and labor collectives will in no way have suffered because of our runaway traitors and their Western curators sponsors. Running Europe and America and squeezing sanctions against Belarus,” said Lukashenko.

he compared sanctions with “Golden Blackmail” and stated that the purpose of this is “not the struggle for some kind of mythical human rights”, and the indentation of the economy of Belarus.

“and, if we say direct text, through the closure of plants and mass unemployment [planned] to drive people into poverty, and at best – to bring them to the street. We can not allow it and not allow,” said Lukashenko.

Earlier, Lukashenko in an interview with CNN stated that he did not plan to revenge the European Union for the imposed sanctions. He emphasized that Belarus could do without cooperation with the EU for a long time and to look for sales for their products in Russia and China. “We are doing without you. Without you and without America. We will bypass in the future,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the Belarusian parliament, they stated that they could enact responsibility for calls for sanctions. The relevant amendments to the Criminal Code will be discussed at the autumn session. They provide for the addition and tightening of punishment under the article “Calls to actions aimed at causing harm to national security.”
