According to her, now in the country there are about 270 thousand people of this age category, but 80 thousand never wanted to be hidden. “This solution is not easy and sad for me personally, but this is an extreme means of encouraging people, and if we are talking about money that will allow us to save more lives, let it be so,” the minister noted.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Arunas Dulkis doubted the long-term effect of such an approach to immunize citizens. He assured that he was ready to discuss the initiative of his colleague, but pointed out the need for an independent decision on vaccination for each resident of the country. “Now it is not only about vaccination, but also about our approaches to health,” the official said.

On September 10, in Vilnius on the Cathedral Square, the citizens have arranged dissatisfied with the policies of the authorities to combat COVID-19. The demonstrators wanted to get to the Seima building, where the event was planned to be carried out initially, but the police blocked them the road, collisions began. In total, about five thousand Lithuanians took part in the rally, 20 people were detained.
