Russia: cease to save on salaries of officials

In Russia, they will cease to save on salaries of officials: the indexation of wages will resume in 2022, they will again rise by four percent. This is stated in the proposals of the Cabinet of Ministers, submitted to the State Duma, reports RBC.

Indexation is scheduled from October 1, 2022 for the period up to 2024 inclusive, it will affect all categories of federal state institutions.

Also indexing will affect judges, prosecutor’s employees, employees of the SC, federal state civil servants and other categories of employees of federal state bodies. In addition, from October 1, 2022, an annual increase in the salary of military and persons equated to them, indexation will also be four percent.

In September 2020, it was reported that the Russian government found a way to save significantly reducing the cost of the federal budget for 2021. As the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov stated, the first place to reduce the program of procurement of weapons and salaries of officials. In 2021, their salaries were not subjected to annual indexation by inflation.
