Ministry of Internal Affairs announced ignoring of United Kingdom of Russia’s requests for legal assistance

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia stated that the United Kingdom ignores the majority of Russian requests for legal assistance. This was told in the press center of the department, RIA Novosti reports.

So, for 2020 and 2021, Moscow sent London 29 requests for legal assistance, but it was provided only in three of them. “This fact testifies to the development of the trend expressed in ignoring the competent authorities of the specified state of obligations to fulfill the requests of the Russian side,” they were stated in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. There noted that such a situation does not allow to establish significant circumstances of crime and is an obstacle to decision making on criminal matters.

At the same time, 44 persons who are wanted in criminal matters in the production of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were issued for this period. In one query of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the United Kingdom refused.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy pointed to the Megaphone Justice of Britain in the case of the poisoning of the former Officer of GRU Sergei Skriplia and his daughter Yulia. The diplomsses stressed that the issuance of Russians to other states is impossible in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation, and this principle must be observed.
