The Belarusian authorities are actively looking for and prepare new routes for illegal migration to the European Union (EU), trying to provide political pressure on their neighbors. With such accusations, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Lithuania Agnei Skill, writes Delfi.
According to her, about the intentions of Minsk, strengthen the flow of illegal immigrants to Europe shows the expansion of a visa-free regime with such countries as Pakistan, South Africa, Iran and Egypt. The Ministry of Internal Affairs receives information about the attempt by the Belarusian authorities to take advantage of the situation in Afghanistan. “We also see solutions that allow you to fly not only in Minsk, but also at other airports,” said Tilty.
Earlier, Lithuanian Ambassador to the USA Audra Plepitis called Belorussia the main threat to sovereignty and territorial integrity of the republic. She indicated that Minsk continues to destabilize the situation in the country, including with the help of migrants. “If the autocratic regime of Alexander Lukashenko in the near future will not be neutralized, all of Europe will eventually pay,” the diplomat emphasized.
The migration crisis at the borders of Belarus and the European Union began at the end of May. Large groups of illegal migrants from Africa and the Middle East began to storm the boundaries of Lithuania, Poland and Latvia in the hope of obtaining refuge in the European Union. It is assumed that the Belarusian authorities use their national tour operator “Centerkurort” to cross the migrants to the EU borders and earn it.
