In Russia, the modernization of the unique radar station (RLS) “DON-2N” was completed, which ensures Moscow anti-missile defense, fixes the start of ballistic missiles, and monitors space objects. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the general director of the RTI System Concern, Yuri Anoshko.
During the modernization of DON-2N radar, the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the system increased, “said Yuri Anoshko. The representative of the “RTI System” did not specify which RLC parameters were improved. According to him, the system is now tested.
Stationary radar of the circular review “Don-2n” was developed by specialists of the Radio Engineering Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1978, the construction of the station, which was adopted in 1989. Since 1996, Don-2n has been standing on battle duty. This system is designed to control the outer space of Russia and the CIS countries.
