Rogozin stated timing of emergence of Russian orbital station

The head of the state corporation “Roskosmos” Dmitry Rogozin called the deadlines for the emergence of a new Russian orbital station. This is reported by TASS.

According to the head of Roskosmos, to start the deployment of the Russian orbital service station (Ross) are planned after five to six years. Dmitry Rogozin reported this in the course of the Marathon “New Knowledge” on Thursday.

In April, Vice Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that Russia could leave the project of the International Space Station (ISS) by 2025, and will begin work on the Russian orbital service station (Ross). According to Rogozin, the creation of Ross will require the same costs as the maintenance of the Russian segment of the ISS after 2025.

The Ross base will be a scientific and energy module (NAM), which was originally planned to send to docking from the ISS in 2025. To work as part of Ross, the module will finalize what may require about two years. At the first stage, Ross deployment should include up to four modules – NAM, the node module “Pier”, basic and gateway modules. The implementation of this stage is scheduled for the period from 2030 to 2035.

Earlier, the head of Roskosmos spoke in an interview with the CNN channel about relations between Russia and the United States. In his opinion, representatives of the two countries are family in an near-earth orbit. So Dmitry Rogozin commented on his words spoken in June, according to which American sanctions are incompatible with cooperation between Russia and the United States.
