Resistance forces in the Afghan province Panjscher stated that Al-Qaida was joined by the militants “Taliban” (both organizations are prohibited in Russia). It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the agency’s interlocutors, the 350 Talibans were destroyed during the battles. Representatives of Taliban, in turn, declare the destruction of 34 resistance fighters, including two commanders.
Earlier it was informed of the decision to launch an offensive in the Taliban resistance forces in Panjshir province after the failure of talks with rebel leader Ahmed Massoud. The representative of the Movement Amir Khan Mottaki also stated that the Taliban intends to take Panzheter by force, since negotiations with resistance were ineffective.
Taliban on September 1 reported that they had already seized six cashposts in the rebellious province of Panjscher. At the same time, the resistance force was denied.
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov responded to the situation in Panjsheter. According to him, in Moscow hope that the Taliban will give up its plans to the beginning of the fighting in Panjshir province and begin a dialogue with other forces in Afghanistan.
