Vladivostok Mayor Konstantin Shestakov said that the main ways to attract residents to the new city satellite is an increase in the number of jobs and large investment projects. He reported this in a conversation with RIA Novosti on the East Economic Forum (WEF).
At the event, an agreement was signed on the creation of the city. It is expected that the settlement from 2.8 million square meters of housing will be erected under Vladivostok. 300 thousand people will have to live in the city. However, with Vladivostok and Artem, the population of urban agglomeration will exceed a million people.
“We understand that these are new jobs. These are the people who will be the basis, the rod of the future construction of the Grand Vladivostok, because the very city of the satellite or the satellite area, which is mentioned, is clearly not the limit for our territory.” – says the Shestakov.
He stated that he was not afraid to manage a million millionnik. According to the mayor, when it comes to the lives and comfort of citizens, then there is no difference between happiness of three people and the happiness of three million, since “it’s all the same responsibility, this is the same team work.” Shestakov stressed that large volumes of work are not frightened.
