Samsung introduced the prototype of the display capable of playing a three-dimensional image. It is reported by the Korean Et NEWS.
The invention was presented with a subsidiary Samsung Display at the exhibition in Seoul. The prototype of the stretched screen has a diagonal of 13 inches. The display matrix can be transformed and bend in several directions. Thus, it reproduces 3D content on a two-dimensional screen.
Judging by the video, the matrix of the future presented by the Korean Corporation “Displays of the Future” is lifted and stretched depending on the content depicted. In the quality of demonstration of technology, engineers showed video with volcanic lava. “The screen is physically rising and lowered, effectively creating a three-dimensional representation of the 1D-content shows,” the authors noted.
According to Samsung’s representatives, the screens of this species can be used in the wearable devices, the internet devices of things (Internet of Things, IoT), smart cars. Also, the stretch screen can be used when creating smartphones for people with disabilities and weak vision.
