Kudrin found risks for Russia’s revenues

Changes with which the world will face due to the transition to a “green”, carbon economy, on the scale of the scale compared with the consequences of the invention of the internal combustion engine, said Chairman of the Accounts Chamber Alexey Kudrin during the plenary session of the Moscow Financial Forum. Broadcast was carried out on YouTube.

Kudrin finds that new trends create certain risks for Russia. As the head of the Accounts Chamber reminded, the world is already actively moving to carbon neutrality. “The world will refuse those technologies that are now used in the energy sector. And it will be difficult for us to supply our hydrocarbons to world markets,” Kudrin said.

He explained that according to the scenario of hydrocarbon neutrality, exports should be reduced up to 70 percent. According to Kudrin, the risks for the income base of the budget system are already present in the next ten years.

In July, the potential losses of the country due to the refusal of the world economy from hydrocarbons assessed the Special Representative of the President of Russia for Relations with International Organizations to achieve the goals of sustainable development Anatoly Chubais. According to him, the state can lose ten percent of gross domestic product (GDP).
