In United States extended emergency regime due to threat of elections

American President Joe Biden extended an emergency situation for the next year due to the threat of foreign intervention in the US elections, RIA Novosti writes.

The mode worked from September 12, 2018. It serves as a legal basis for introducing various restrictions against those whom Washington suspects in attempts to influence the electoral preferences of Americans or undermine the confidence in the state’s electoral system. “I extend for one year the national emergency regime announced by Decree 13848,” the head of state stressed.

At the same time, he admitted that so far the American side failed to collect evidence that any country managed to change the results or distort the counting of election votes in the United States.

Earlier, Biden reported on the imaginary intervention of Russia in American elections. According to him, Moscow is already doing an attempt to interfere with the interim election of 2022 in the United States. According to the American leader, the election misinformation is becoming an increasingly serious problem.
