The authorities of Nangarhar Province in East Afghanistan announced the arrest of 80 militants of the “Islamic State” (IG, prohibited in Russia, a terrorist organization). It is reported by RIA Novosti.
Governor of the province of Mavelvi Mohammad Nadim said that the Taliban militants (a terrorist organization forbidden in Russia) arrested at least 80 terrorists of the IG over the past few days. He stressed that the movement continues to combat terrorist organizations in the Afghan territory.
A resident of the province told RIA Novosti that the Taliban conducted raids on the houses of citizens associated with the IG. According to him, the militants arrested six people. The source of the agency also noted that the representatives of the Taliban closed six educational institutions in Jalalabad, which may be associated with the “Islamic state.”
