Number of victims as a result of explosions in a military warehouse in Kazakhstan has grown

In Kazakhstan, the number of victims of explosions in a military warehouse increased in Kazakhstan. This was announced on September 7 in the Ministry of Defense, “Sputnik Kazakhstan” reports.

“As a result of the injuries received on August 26, when steaming a fire in the warehouse of ammunition in the Zhambyl region, the soldier of the military unit 28349 Captain Kyrgyzaliyev Yerlan Ryskulbecules, 1983, was told in the military department.

Kyrgyzaliyev was the head of the departments of the ammunition and one of the first began to extinguish fire. He became the 16th victim of explosions.

On the evening of August 26, a fire occurred in a warehouse in the military unit in the Zhambyl region, an ammunition began to explode. In total, at least 10 explosions occurred. The number of victims, according to the latest data, is 90 people. About 1.2 thousand people of nearby villages were evacuated.

After what happened, Nurlan Yermekbayev was dismissed, Murat Bektanov was appointed in his place. Investigation is underway.
