US will refuse coal by 2030

The efforts of the US authorities to increase the share of “green” energy in the general generation of electricity for the needs of the population will lead to the fact that by 2030 energy companies will be forced to refuse coal, and it will be completely excluded from the American power system. About this Bloomberg reported America’s Power trading group, representing the interests of coal industrialists.

The “Net Electricity” proposed by the Democratic Party provides subsidies for the total amount of 150 billion dollars to those enterprises that will increase the supply of “clean” energy for the population at least four percent. Otherwise, the company will be forced to pay a fine to the Ministry of Energy. It is assumed that thanks to the program by 2035 will occur decarbonization of American energy, and this is one of the key goals of the current president Joe Bayden.

However, such stimulating measures threaten the coal industry. The Chief Executive Officer America’s Power Michel Bloavort told the heads of the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives, which by 2030, if not earlier, the coal energy will be destroyed. Bloavort warned that due to the program, not only coal, but also the gas industry will suffer. At the same time, it is now 40 percent of the entire generated electricity falls on natural gas.

The American Power Trade Group, which represents the interests of coal companies, also reports that enterprises that provide utilities are already refused fossil fuel. However, America’s Power warns that it will require much more renewable energy for such a sharp transition, and its lack can destabilize the US power system.

To satisfy the growing need for green energy and complete the power transfers to be completed, the United States focused on the construction of power plants using renewable energy sources. Already in 2020, the shares of “clean” energy in new facilities reached a record 80 percent, while the wind stations accounted for 42 percent of the generated energy, and on the solar – the remaining 38 percent.

Earlier it was reported that the United States plans to go to solar energy to achieve almost complete decarbonization of the electricity sector by 2050.
