The head of diplomacy of the EU Josep Borrel told about the desire of Russia to sow a discord among European countries. His words transfers Interfax.
“Our unity should be our largest asset in relations with Russia, because it is obvious that Russia wants to sow among us a discord,” Borrel said. He also called on European countries to be united in matters of relations with the Russian side.
According to the head of European diplomacy, Russia is still a major player in the international arena and “will not disappear.” Therefore, the EU should find a way that will help to achieve less conflict and more stable relationship, he concluded.
Earlier, Borrel stated that economic sanctions against Russia, despite their effectiveness, have side effects. In particular, trade restrictions are reflected in the cost of goods on the European market, he stressed.
