France declared a crisis in relations with United States

Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Drian stated that the situation with submarine contract led to a serious crisis in relations between Paris and Washington. This is reported by TASS.

The Minister added that withdrawing the ambassador from the USA Paris showed his discontent and encouraged a new assessment of relations between countries.

Earlier, France for the first time in history recalled its ambassadors to the United States and Australia for consultations. As the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Country Jean-Yves Drian explained, this is an exceptional decision that is associated with the decision of Canberra to break the contract for submarine with the French company Naval Group and the following announcement of the new Aukus partnership with the United States and the United Kingdom, which also involves the creation of atomic underwater Boats for the Navy Australia. He also called Australia’s actions “unacceptable behavior between allies and partners.”
