Norwegian Defense Minister put forward demand from Russia because of exercises

Norwegian Defense Minister Frank Bakka-Jensen nominated the requirement for Russia because of the military exercises “West-2021”, which were held from 10 to 16 September. According to him, they should pass openly and predictably, reports the NRK edition.

“We urge Russia to be open in terms of its teachings, and comply with the obligations on transparency in accordance with the Vienna Document,” said Bakka-Jensen. He stressed that this should be done in order not to contribute to the emergence of misunderstandings and unintended escalation.

Norwegian minister also expressed the opinion that Russia exhibits itself in the north more and more actively and “self-confidently.” According to him, near the territories of Norway, Russian military activity is steadily growing.
