American teacher cut the hair of a seven-year-old girl without the permission of her parents and went to court. It is reported by the MLIVE portal.
A resident of Michigan Jimmy Hoffmeyer said that his daughter Jerney, who is a representative of a mixed race, is studying at the Ganiard elementary school in the city of Mount Pleasant. In March, she returned home with unevenly cropped hair and explained to his father that they cut their classmate on the bus.
After the incident, Hoffmeyer sent a complaint addressed to the director of the school and went with his daughter to the beauty salon, where the master crowded her hair length. According to him, after two days, Jerney came home again with cropped strands and to the question of who spoiled her hairstyle, replied that he did one of the teachers.
The Hero of the Material said that the girl’s hair fired a white girl in the presence of a teacher. For this reason, Hoffmeyer accused the guidance of an educational institution in racial bias, but the school board did not discover discrimination in the actions of the accused.
According to the publication, the man filed a lawsuit against the school administration, librarian and teacher assistant, demanding compensation for moral damage in the amount of one million dollars. The lawsuit says that Teachers violated the policy of the educational institution.
School Council of the city of Mount Pleasant held an independent investigation, during which he interrogated by the Incident participants, and also analyzed various videos, photos and posts in social networks belonging to the events that occurred. Ultimately, experts stated that the teacher was guided by good intentions.
Despite this, the school administration received a reprimand and apologize to Hoffmayer. The President of the School Council of Amy Bond, in turn, emphasized that she intends to defend teachers from unfounded accusations in court.
