Israel will install “Iron Dome” on ships

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) began installing weapons to new ships of Israel Navy. Four Corvette such as Sa’ar 6 will receive new anti-aircraft missile systems BARAK MX and a missile defense system (Pro) “Iron Dome”. It is reported by the Navy Recognition portal.

Corvette SA’AR 6, built in Germany, arrived in Israel without weapons. The Israeli Defense Office plans to turn new corvettes in floating batteries to protect the coast and objects in the exclusive economic zone.

Ships will receive Barak MX anti-aircraft missile systems to combat air targets and the SEA Breaker anti-religious missile. A partition of the ammunition was an extensive database of civil and military courts, which allows the rocket to hit the enemy’s ships without the operator’s command.

To intercept, Corvette’s rockets will receive the marine version of the Iron Dome system. C-DOME complex, designed in 2014, includes the installation of a vertical start for ten Tamir anti-missile. This arrangement of missiles allows you to expand the coverage sector up to 360 degrees. C-DOME uses standard ship radar.

In August, the US Army conducted a test system for the Iron Dome. Two batteries of the system will ensure the protection of the US friendly forces on permanent and time items.
