ECHR ordered Russia to compensate for liquidation of Limonov Party

The European Court of Human Rights ordered Russia to pay compensation for the elimination of the National Bolshevik Party (NBP, prohibited in Russia) Eduard Limonova. The text of the resolution is published on the site of the court.

The document says that the Russian court made a decision that violates the 11 article of the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The article protects the right of people to freedom of peaceful assembly.

Now the Russian side is obliged to compensate for the elimination of the NBP and to pay the applicants, among whom were the children of the founder of the party Edward Limonov, 10 thousand euros.
