President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko appointed the former head of the Hockey Federation of Belarus Dmitry Baskov, who threatened opposition-minded athletes, the Senator of the Upper House of Parliament. Head of State reported on his decision personally during the working meeting in the Independence Palace, BelTA reports.
According to the Belarusian leader, the Basque will focus on solving social problems, and will also work with sports theme.
Lukashenko noted that he should not believe the rumors that Basque was involved in political repression, since these are just provocative statements of displeased oppositionists of the operating authorities of Belarus.
“I think that during the work in the Senate of the country’s experience of political patient. Patriotism is enough for you, the devotion of Belarus in you through the edge, God forbid everyone. And then your business is already defined, how to be further,” Lukashenko appealed to Basque .
