Belarusians standing at the origins of their sovereign state were the “Epochal Test” on the strength of the nation. The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told Alexander Lukashenko during a solemn ceremony of presenting state awards, BelTA reports.
He stressed that the test managed to go with dignity. “Did not frighte us a pandemic and did not stop us hybrid attacks on our statehood, which continue until now,” added the head of the republic.
Lukashenko also drew attention to the fact that the awards ceremony takes place on the eve of the first in the history of the Belarusian Day of National Unity.
Decree on the establishment of the relevant holiday, the Belarusian president signed on June 7. Solemn events will be held on September 17. It was on this day that in 1939, Western Belarus was included in the USSR on the basis of the section of Poland with the Third Reich.
