Second start day on Baikonur

Today, September 12, 2021, the joint calculation of subsidiaries of Roskosmos State Corporation began working on the schedule of the second starting day in the Mission of OneWeb No. 36. In the morning, there are managers of spacecraft manufacturers, representatives of the leadership of the State Corporation “Roskosmos” , Companies “Glavkosmos” and OneWeb.

On the eve, the export of Soyuz-2.1b space rocket was taken out on the starting line of the site No. 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome. Specialists of Roscosmos enterprises held work on the schedule of the first starting day. Today, the active phase of preparation for the launch, which is scheduled for September 14, continues.

On the starting complex “Vostok”, it is planned to conduct a control set of startup readiness of the Overclocking block “Frigate”, as well as work on the “Technological Preparation” regime. In the afternoon, general tests will be held during which the start of the launch vehicle is simulated, then the analysis of telemetry information will be carried out.

Overclocking block “frigate” production of the scientific and production association named after S.A. Lavochkina (part of Roscosmos State Corporation) ensures the effective implementation of all tasks to eliminate one or more spacecraft on working orbits or flying from the land of the trajectory. The entire removal process is carried out autonomously, without interference from Earth. The highest reliability, the possibility of launching from four cosmodromes and, almost, the ideal accuracy of elimination, give an accelerated block of indisputable competitive advantages over world counterparts.

The basis of the structural-layout diagram of the acceleration unit is a block of tanks constructed by a monoblock support scheme. It has a torusferic configuration consisting of six spherical tanks, separated by spherical bottoms. Four of them are the pots of oxidizing agent and fuel, two tanks are compartments for the placement of onboard devices and equipment.
