Kalashnikov Group of Companies at the Military Technical Forum “Army-2021” for the first time showed a prototype of a new PPK-20 gun gun for the pilots of the Russian Space Forces (VKS). This is reported by TASS.
“Weapons successfully passed tests, adapted to the wearable emergency stock, can be used in the aircraft’s cabin,” said the Deputy General Director of Kalashnikov for Special Projects Denis Fisenko.
The concert noted that the tests of the PPK-20 were conducted in the State Field Testing Center of the Ministry of Defense in Akhtubinsk (Astrakhan Region) and showed the possibility of placing weapons in the aircraft catapult chair. Currently, tests continue to assess the effectiveness of changes made to the development. The company also stressed that PPK-20 has the potential for export.
Length of weapons with a folded butt reaches 41 centimeters. The initial flight rate of the bullet is about 470 meters per second, the distance of the direct shot at a growth target is 360 meters. When applying 9H21 cartridges from PPK-20, you can break through the brand armor of the Protection class 3a (according to the Nij standard).
