IL-114 tests stopped after crash IL-112B

Joint Aviation Corporation (UAC) suspended test flights of an experimental sample of the IL-114 passenger aircraft after IL-112V crash. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the corporation.

“It is necessary to analyze the details and circumstances of what happened from IL-112B, including an analysis of objective data from the onboard recorder. Therefore, the test flights of the experimental aircraft IL-114, equipped with a similar power plant, will not be held for some time,” said Oak.

The corporation stressed that both aircraft are equipped with TVC117-art engines. On August 18, TASS, with reference to the source, reported that in the UAC decided to “prohibit flight from the Zhukovsky airfield to the Cube of the IL-114-300 aircraft to participate in the forum.” The corporation denied this message, stating that at that time such solutions were not accepted.

An experienced sample of the newest Russian military transport aircraft IL-112B crashed on August 17 during the flight in the Moscow region. The incident occurred during the training flight. All three crew members died. The reasons for what happened are clarified. One of the versions of what happened is the oil entering the combustion chamber.
