The population of the United States has become more diverse in racial-ethnic terms than ever in the history of the country. This is evidenced by the US Census Bureau, the Washington Post reports.
In particular, for the first time since 1790, the White Population decreased in the country. According to estimates, the number of non-appealing citizens decreased to 204.3 million people. The main criterion of the census was the self-identification of participants. In addition, for the first time in percentage, the white population was less than 60 percent. Their share fell from 63.7 percent in 2010 to 57.8 percent in 2020.
At the same time, a significant increase in the number of people who identify themselves as representatives of different races, as well as Latin Americans and Asians. According to Researcher-Demographer William Freya from the Brookings Institute, by 2045 the proportion of the White population can drop to 50 percent and below.
