“We held a meeting with power structures, discussed the situation on the border, engineering works that Tajikistan plans. I talked with the Governor of the Sughd region, we agreed to meet at the level of Akimov, heads of the ROVD,” said Alimbaev.

At the end of April, a shootout broke out on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which turned into full-scale battles. The reason was the long-term territorial dispute between the two republics due to the water distribution point. Dozens of people died, hundreds suffered. The parties accused each other in provocations.
