Russia will send Tajikistan over a million dollars to protect border

Russia allocated Tajikistan more than a million dollars for the construction of a modern border appendix due to the threat of the penetration of the Militants of the Taliban Radical Movement (prohibited in Russia) to the Republic of Afghanistan. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Oleg Syromolotov, TASS reports.

According to him, the security facility will be erected to protect one of the most vulnerable border areas with Afghanistan in the Khatlon region. 1.1 million dollars for construction will be aimed at the appeal of the authorities of Tajikistan. “The appropriate agreement is scheduled to sign in the next contact tops,” the diplomat emphasized.

August 10 became known that the Russian military base in Tajikistan strengthened with new weapons due to the exacerbation of the situation in neighboring Afghanistan. Among the received weapon, new Kalashnikov AK-12 guns, Yarygin pistols, large-caliber sniper rifles of ASVK-M, high-range flamets, as well as portable anti-aircraft missile systems “Verba”.

Currently, in Afghanistan, there is a confrontation of government forces with the militants of the Taliban movement (the organization is prohibited in Russia), which searched with significant territories in rural areas and launched an offensive for major cities. The Taliban was activated after the start of the usage of US troops and NATO countries from the country.
